Performing Arts Center

 

A 1,500 seat performing arts center to bring in culturally diverse art forms (classical to contemporary theater, music, dance, and visual arts, exhibitions, and galleries. Programmatically, this center would offer training and education in the arts for the residents and the local community. This will be a big revenue generating facility. We expect to generate about $900,000 per year on this facility.

Butterfly Center

 

A very unique educational and entertaining facility that will house live butterflies in their natural habitat complete with flowers, gardens, water falls and hummingbirds. This enclosed structure will have a myriad of species of both natural and foreign butterflies and hummingbirds. It will be a state of the science breeding center for butterflies, hummingbirds, and their supporting plant life. It will be open to the public seven days a week from 10 am to 6 pm. The students along with professional staff will operate this facility. It will provide immeasurable educational and hands on learning events for the students and visitors. It will be a revenue generating facility with gross revenues estimated at $600,000 per year.

Athletic Complex

This facility will house community/public, football, baseball, and basketball leagues, tennis courts, and in-house physical education and recreational use by the ORACLE scholars, staff and visitors. It will be the focal point of most sport related recreational activities. Revenue generation is negligible.

 


 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Sports Complex

Food Bank/Commissary
The Food Bank/Commissary will stock foodstuff both can goods and fresh fruits, vegetables, and meats. It will stock fresh produce that will be raised on the many farms in the community along with produce and foodstuffs shipped. It will supply most of the daily food needs of the community residents and will be utilized as a food bank for the needy and less fortunate in the surrounding community. It will also be used as a facility to train students in management, retail sales, marketing, and other areas of trade and business. We expect to generate moderate revenues of about $550,000 per year in gross sales.

Chief Powhatan Catfish Farm
We will utilize over 100 acres for the development of commercial farm raised catfish farming. This is a very lucrative venture that will be used to generate revenue, provide training for the students, jobs for residents of the community and surrounding area. We will develop five ponds and special breeding areas for the production of a prime catfish that will be hearty to this area and will be selectively bred to have to have a superb taste and maximum protein content.

We will bring in world-renowned catfish expert, Mr. Paige Montgomery of Grambling State University. He developed a premier program at the university for catfish farming and the associated technologies of breeding, testing husbandry, hybrid genetic and commercial production schemes that are very cost effective and efficient. We estimate a sale of about 30 tons of catfish per year with gross revenues of about $300,000 per year.
